Big and Small
At Belay, we value both the big and the small. Why? This is the pattern we see in scripture. Acts 5:42 (NIV) says, “Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.” Notice how they gathered as a big group in the temple courts, and in smaller groups from house to house.
Big Group
From experience, we find that a big group—typified by great worship and Bible teaching—often gives us the opportunity for life-transforming moments in God’s presence.
Small Group
A small group, on the other hand—typified by conversation, laughter, prayer, and friendship—gives us a beautiful mix of growth in our relationship with God and one another.
The Moments and The Mix
We need both the moments and the mix. Therefore, we gather in both big and small groups to encourage and build up our mutual faith.
