A church, in its most basic sense, is a community of disciples on mission with Jesus.
A micro church is no different . . .it's just smaller.
Therefore, a micro church is a relatively small community of disciples on mission with Jesus.
What makes a church a church?
The phrase, "a community of disciples on mission with Jesus," reveals 4 basic ingredients of a church (regardless of size):
- A Community — a fellowship of friends; a family.
- of Disciples — followers of Jesus who trust Him as Savior and worship Him as King.
- on Mission — a church heeds both the Great Commission of Jesus and the Great Commandment of Jesus.
- with Jesus — He is alive, so we serve with Him, not just for Him.
How micro is micro?
Small and micro are rather subjective and relative terms, but a micro church likely has around 3-12 people.
